After logging about a month of gameplay and climbing the Multiplayer leaderboards, I must say it's an EXCELLENT game. Many people were scared away at the beginning because of a rather steep learning curve or simply ''omg it's not a FPS''. I assure you, the more you play and the better you get the more fun it becomes, and it's my personal favourite game of all time.Amazon is selling it for 26$, I don't know if it's the cheapest but that's more than a bargain price for this amazing game.http://www.amazon.com/Halo-Wars-Xbox-360/dp/B0017HW5LM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8%26s=videogames%26qid=1261901442%26sr=8-1Give Halo Wars a chance.

I agree that StarCraft is an awesome game but Halo Wars shouldn't be over shadowed by big titles. It's a fun game that is awesome to play with friends and the learning curve is well done. I believe Halo Wars is a game worth playing.
I had a blast with it, especially doin the campaign in co-op with a friend
I just wish Halo Wars wasn't so simple. In the end you just do one thing, build a big army and bum rush. I just wish there were more moments where I felt as if my strategic placement of units changed the outcome of a battle. And don't get me started on how over powered Hero Units are... Stupid Prophet...
That's EXACTLY the attitude of most players that play HW once and never touch it again. One you get into high-level play, it's far from simply building a large army and attacking. Early game micro and hook control etc. is KEY in Halo Wars. I'm just saying, if you have the game give it another chance. If you don't I'm trying to interest you into getting it. The game's multiplayer population of a steady 7-8k at all times is nothing compared to MW2 or Halo 3 but it's amazing for a console RTS almost a year after it's release.
How much did Microsoft pay you? jk. Really though it's a pretty fun game though and it's a much needed breathe of fresh air for the Halo series. I recommend it as well.
I've never heard of anyone thinking that Halo Wars had a steep learning curve.

no, if anything its quite easy to pick up and play. Simple unit and upgrade progression, only one resource, its definately one of the easier RTSs to get started on. Either way, ive never thought RTSs on a console was a good idea; i need a mouse, keyboard and hotkeys.
its probably the best halo game since halo1 ce. thats just my pesonal opinion.

That's the problem, its way too simple and not enough units.
This game could have done alot better on PC
I already gave it a chance...I swear this game reminds me of a really bad spin-off of your favorite show/movie.
this game sucks, i would rather play red alert 2 or tiberian sun over this.
game consoles are not meant for rts, every time one comes out it sux or its half of what the pc version is.
I got Halo Wars for Christmas and have never played a RTS game. They aren't really my cup of tea. I was thinking of starting it when I finish my second playthrough of Mass Effect.
Dude do you work for amazon or something? ...Anywho if youre talking about this like its one of the best RTS games ever you obviously havent played the likes of starcraft, warcraft 1, 2 and 3, supreme commander, command and conquer 3 ... the list goes on.Besides the majority arent saying its a bad game its just to simple to be up to the standards of current RTS games. And yes we know its supposed to be because its designed specifically for consoles but that doesnt change the fact that it is far from being a stellar RTS.Besides one of the halo series' biggest stregnths is its story telling and on this count also halo wars disappoints
Good Game, I love it!
Gotta admit that my short time with the game put me off. Way too simplistic and made me realize I care little about the Halo Universe outside of the narratives of the main games. It sounds like it might be better if I put enough time into it, but there's the problem. Time. Way too many great games out there and so little time. I dont think I'd give Halo Wars another chance, but maybe I'll be less quick to tell people to avoid it. I think thats the best you'll get from me!
I liked that it was more casual to play then starcraft. wasnt that the goal? Im not into micro-managing with a keyboard.
[QUOTE=''BLAS1AN'']I liked that it was more casual to play then starcraft. wasnt that the goal? Its like making a very accessible and shallow racing simulator. There's not just not that many people that would be interested in that, cuz its that challenge and depth that interests people in the first place. The fact that Halo Wars was casual just kinda made me realize that on the surface, RTS games are quite boring. Suppose that could just be me, though.
