do you need a router for xbox live?

im going to get xbox live wired but dont know if i need a router or not cause i dont have onedo you need a router for xbox live?

i really dont understand that but are you saying i would have to take out my connection to the internet and put it back in when im done with live? i have a eternet cable too by the way
If there is anything else in the house that uses the internet and does so during your XBL time then yes, you'd need a router.
