Always metal. Unless i'm playing the story for the first time or its a game where you need to hear the dialogue (RPG's etc.)

Anyway, that was off topic. But i'm the same way sometimes. Like if i'm playing something like MW2 online i'll have to turn it off cause it just bugs me.

Right now, Im listening to Jakewolf and playing Modern Warfare 2.
None. It detracts from the experience IMO.
For anything I listen to Tom Sawyer by Rush I really cant play without it lol

Mostly melodic death metal for me. Norther, Kalmah, Be'lakor, Skyfire, Mors Principium Est, Children of Bodom, Blood Stain Child, Aeveron, Eternal Tears of Sorrow, Insomnium, Dominia. That's all I can think of at the moment but yeah, they totally set the mood when I own on Gears.
I normally don't listen to any of my own music during a game but if I do it's either UNDEROATH or The Devil Wears Prada.
Depends on the game, really. If I've already beaten a game once, I can go through the game a second time without worry of listening to dialogue. Anyways, i enjoy listening to Rise Against, Bullet for my Valentine, Atreyu, and Killswitch Engage.

Tbh, I listen to all sorts of music, mostly metal like mushroomhead, hollywood undead or five finger death punch. but ill listento bob marley if im in the mood 8)
I listen to filter (all albums) when I'm playing a FPS that has little advantage to listening to footsteps. Other than that a mix of anything loud , Bad Religion (New Maps of hell, Random others), The Descendents (Cool to be you, Everything Sucks Today ), Backstabbers incorporated (Bare Asxx Bones), Bush (Sixteen Stone, Razorblade suitcase), Type O-Negative(Life is killing me, October Rust, Dead Again World comming down), Dethklok (1st XD for fun). That's about all I have on there right now.
